Credentials

Professional Registered Parliamentarian (National Association of Parliamentarians): Members (individuals in good standing who pay their dues and passed the basic membership test) must pass the Registration Examination, a written exam of five portions, and obtain RP status. RPs then can take the Professional Qualifying Course at a National Training Conference or similar event and pass the course in order to receive Professional Registered Parliamentarian status. The examinations are based on the most current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised.

Certified Professional Parliamentarian (American Institute of Parliamentarians): Members (individuals in good standing who pay their dues) must pass a six-hour written examination consisting of multiple choice, short answer, essay, and script-writing.
